Since 1978, Heritage Textile Arts Guild has been known as Headles and Treadles. We are the oldest, most experienced, wide ranging Textile Arts Guild in the area. When three enthusiastic fiber artists called a meeting with seventeen local artists, a guild was established to offer support and training to all. Initially focused on weaving and spinning, the guild has grown to encompass many disciplines such as knitting, crochet, dyeing, artistic embellishments with heavy emphasis on weaving and spinning. In 2003, the Guild Studio was offered a location in Pony Village Mall, North Bend, Oregon, where members were able to further promote textiles. In 2005, the Guild filed and received State and Federal Non-Profit Status. The Studio moved from the mezzanine in Pony Village to the main floor of the mall. A brightly lit corner with large windows and a substantial amount of traffic. This moved has attracted the attention of many people, who are very exited to learn about the Guild and textiles. This as a key move to promote, foster, develop and advance the textile arts. The Guild Studio hours are 10-4:00 Tuesday through Saturday. Each Guild member donates time during Studio hours. Often teaching or sometimes just keeping the doors open during Studio hours to visitors. In the Guild Studio, a visitor will find the Retail Sales area. This area contains hand made items, pertaining to fiber arts, for sale by members. Wrapping around the back wall and sides are the Guild's equipment of looms and related fiber arts equipment. Classes are happening regularly, and at any one time visitors can see projects on the looms. Also, a member has use of the extensive fiber arts library. All of our assets were donated over the years by current and past generous members. Monthly Meetings are the second Saturday of each month. The meetings are free and open to members, non-members and the curious. Business meeting starts at 9:00 am, a program is at approximately 10:00 am, followed by Show-n-tell. Most of the time this schedule allows the meeting to be completed before lunch. Twice a year the Guild has a potluck. The Guild looks forward to showing off their new location! ![]() home
